Chubb has roots dating back to 1818 when two enterprising brothers, Charles and Jeremiah Chubb invented what was called the 'Detector Lock'. Chubb opened its first offices in Australia in 1896 and since this time Chubb has developed a strong, trustworthy reputation for quality and reliability. In 1969 Chubb established an electronic security business locally and has continued to grow and expand into the national business it is today. In 2003 Chubb was acquired by United Technologies Corporation (NSSE: UTX).
